Twenty LSU students spending Friday morning landscaping and gardening at local community center

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – LSU Campus Life members will be busy on Friday, August 20.

From 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., LSU students take part in the Stripes and Campus Life Community Bound program.

According to the city of Baton Rouge, “20 students will be doing landscaping and gardening under the supervision of staff from the Jewel J. Newman Community Center.”

The Friday morning event is a collaboration between Louisiana State University’s Campus Life and the Jewel J. Newman Community Center.

90 minutes after the service event begins at the Jewel J. Newman Community Center, LSU Campus Life is holding a volunteer fair on campus.

According to the city of Baton Rouge, “the fair is an opportunity for LSU students to learn about volunteer opportunities and give organizations the opportunity to recruit volunteers.”
